Czechtoll announces Kč1.768bn of toll collection in October
Czechtoll has announced that toll collection from vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons reached Kč1.768 billion (c. £62m) crowns in October.
Year-on-year, this means a growth of 11.6 %. The number of toll transactions processed by CzechToll in the tenth month increased slightly year-on-year to just below Kč110m (c. £4m).
During October, 344,077 unique vehicles paid the tolls, the highest number of vehicles since the start of this year.
Reportedly, 89% of tolls collected in October were payments for driving on motorways, with the remaining 11% being for 1st category roads.
From the start of the year to the end of October, lorry operators paid Kč16.1bn (c. £580m crowns in tolls (+11.6% year-on-year). Over 53.4 % of this amount was paid by foreign carriers.
As at the end of October 908 thousand vehicles weighing over 3.5 tons were registered in the electronic toll system, of which over 722 thousand vehicles had foreign license plate numbers.
For the registered vehicles, CzechToll issued 648 thousand on-board units to carriers.
