Transport Infrastructure Ireland is assessing road user charging / road pricing options in Ireland as part of the country's most recent Climate Action Plan. This session will present an overview of Project BRUCE (Better Road User Charging Evaluation) and explain the methodology, timetable, and main options to be assessed as part of this evaluation programme. The presentation will also outline the overall approval process, which includes the preparation of business cases and implementation plans under the Irish government’s Public Spending Code process. It will:

• Share a comprehensive methodology for conducting an evaluation of national road user charging / road pricing (including the modelling approach and economic and financial appraisal)
• Provide insight into the stakeholder management and communications process
• Provide an overview as to how best to identity and manage the delivery risks relating to a national scheme.
