Following the expansion of toll domains and introduction of foreign vehicle taxation in Sweden, the Swedish Transport Agency (STA) decided to transform its ANPR setup and started on a journey to master the technology and mitigate the challenges as traffic volume spiked. This presentation will provide an overview of the STA's experience implementing ANRP technology and explain the challenges and benefits of using ANPR as an electronic fee. Furthermore, it will outline how: 

• ANPR is applicable as the mean for primary identification
• Toll Domain priorities are reflected with ANPR configuration
• Taxation frameworks and demarcations cause unexpected side effects and drives complexity
