Biography

 

Dr. Maxime Uhoda works in the study center (Direction Gestion Fiscale/Directie Fiscaal Beheer) of the Tax Administration of Brussels-Capital Region (SPRBF). The region manages car taxes and the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in Brussels.

In particular, he is in charge of studies related to the region’s takeover of the management of the registration and circulation taxes. In this context, he participated in the design of a proposed reform of this tax system in order to make it greener. In particular, he considered the potential implementation of a smart kilometer charge in the Brussels-Capital Region (as well as other possibilities).

Previously, Maxime Uhoda worked as a Researcher at the Tax Institute of the University of Liège and obtained a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences. In particular, he worked on issues related to fiscal federalism, the pricing of public goods and, more specifically, road and highway pricing.
