C40 Cities


Simon is the Technical Lead in the Transport and Urban Planning team at C40, a network of 94 of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change. C40 supports cities to collaborate effectively, share knowledge and drive meaningful, measurable and sustainable action on climate change. His role is to provide technical expertise on transport and urban planning for the organisation and  help embed transport and urban planning programmes in cities’ climate action plans. He is seconded from Transport for London (TfL), the integrated transport authority for London

At TfL Simon worked within the Transport Strategy team on the development of air quality and environmental policy for the Mayor’s Transport Strategy and London Environment Strategy. He led the policy development for the T-Charge, the early introduction and expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone and the Mayor of London’s scrappage scheme for microbusinesses and charities.

Simon holds an MSc in Transport Planning and Management from the University of Westminster and a BA in History from the University of Warwick
