Mark Muriello has thirty-eight years of experience in transportation and public finance, covering bus, rail, marine terminal, bridge, tunnel, and toll operations. Mark is working with the International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association (IBTTA) as a Policy & Government Affairs Advisor, supporting the Association’s federal agenda, including reauthorization of the federal transportation program and other policy matters related to user-based transportation finance and electronic payment systems. Mark retired as Deputy Director of Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals for The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in September 2020 after 33 years of service. At the Port Authority, Mark oversaw the operations, maintenance and planning for the agency’s six tunnels and bridges and two interstate bus terminals that connect the New Jersey and New York City. These facilities have a ten-year capital investment plan of $4 billion, and collectively serve more than one million customers each weekday, producing $1.8 billion in revenue annually. Mark has a distinguished record of accomplishment in highway operations, tolling, finance, transportation planning and policy. Mark served on the Board of Directors for the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association, the E-ZPass Group, the OmniAir Consortium, and TRANSCOM, and in a leadership capacity in a number of industry and national transportation organizations including the Transportation Research Board and the Eastern Transportation Coalition (formerly the I-95 Corridor Coalition).
